Orientis implements a new tailor-made IT environment compliant with CSSF requirements

As a provider of accounting and fund administration services, Orientis wanted to regain full control of its IT while ensuring that its environment complied with CSSF requirements. With DEEP’s support, the company successfully migrated to a high-performance and secure cloud environment without any business disruption.

Context and challenges

Founded in 2010 and formerly part of an international group, Orientis launched a project in October 2023 to become independent, successfully completing it by year-end 2024. In this context, the company needed to set up a new IT environment to host its own tools and data. It turned to DEEP to help define its needs and support the migration of its systems to an Azure cloud platform located within the European Union.

Client’s business domain

Orientis specializes in corporate accounting and hedge fund administration services. The company, which employs six people, mainly works with institutional clients. As a professional player in the financial sector, it aims to obtain CSSF authorization in order to grow sustainably and in line with market standards.

DEEP’s support

Selected for its solid track record in the financial sector and certified cloud expertise, DEEP took charge of the complete migration of Orientis’s IT environment, as well as ensuring compliance with CSSF requirements. The team worked hand in hand with Orientis’s internal staff and an external IT consultant to ensure a smooth and secure transition.

Mission objectives

  • Separate Orientis’s IT infrastructure from its former group’s, which had been previously managed in other locations outside the European Union.
  • Migrate the entire environment – workstations, business applications, email, and Teams solution – to a Microsoft Azure platform hosted within the European Union.
  • Ensure that the new infrastructure complies with the requirements of the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF).
  • Maintain business continuity without service interruption, and provide ongoing management and maintenance of the new environment.

"We were able to start from a blank slate and significantly simplify our IT. Today, we have better visibility on our costs and enjoy a close relationship with our IT provider."”

Support process

In close collaboration with Orientis’s teams, DEEP thoroughly assessed the company’s requirements. Cloud expertise and knowledge of financial-sector regulatory obligations made it possible to design a solution that met all expectations.

Based on the identified needs and regulatory requirements, DEEP’s teams developed a migration strategy toward the new EU-based cloud environment.

DEEP managed the entire migration project in coordination with the Orientis’ former IT administrator, ensuring that operations continued without interruption.

Beyond migration, DEEP provides full management and maintenance of the environment.
