Sorepol Connects its Sensors and Launches New Services

An IoT platform makes Sorepol's detectors communicative, enabling them to measure and process floating pollution in water. This paves the way for predictive maintenance contracts and remote monitoring.

Client's Activity :

Sorepol designs and manufactures sensors to detect oil and pollution levels in water, then separates and reprocesses these products. Their core business is the management and reprocessing of floating pollution in industrial and urban environments.

Support Model :

DEEP took charge of drafting the specifications, developing the IoT prototype, and providing a functional demonstration of the platform. The project, from specification to commissioning, was completed in just 6 to 8 weeks.

Mission Objectives

  • Define and precisely formalize business and technical needs in a comprehensive specification document.
  • Develop a Proof of Concept (PoC) for the IoT platform to validate the architecture and data flows.
  • Design the control and visualization interface for the sensors, enabling real-time monitoring and data historization.
  • Deliver and test an operational solution within a short timeframe, while preparing the teams for its operation.

The Support Process :

DEEP facilitated workshops with Sorepol's teams to identify needs, define use cases, and outline the technical and functional architecture of the IoT platform.

This involved rapid development of a connected sensor prototype and implementation of a solution for data collection, processing, and restitution to demonstrate feasibility.

Deployment of the platform into production, testing, real-world validation, and team training to ensure smooth adoption and operational support.

Client Benefits

Thanks to this project, Sorepol benefits from:

  • Remote, real-time supervision of its installations' operation, reducing unforeseen interventions.
  • Optimized maintenance rounds, thanks to the correlation of trend data and historical records.
  • New high-value-added services (predictive maintenance contracts and performance monitoring).
  • Sector recognition with the IoT Award High Tech, awarded at Cloud & IoT World 2018.
