JVS ensures data sovereignty and availability with OVHcloud and DEEP

A software publisher for 40 years, the JVS Group provides local authorities with solutions to manage, among other things, their finances, human resources, and citizen services. Because it handles highly sensitive data, the group needed to build a cloud infrastructure combining sovereignty and very high availability. Its CIO, Bertrand Verdelet, looks back on the winning synergy established with OVHcloud and DEEP.

For the CIO of the JVS Group, the key challenge is to provide local authorities with SaaS services that are easy to use, high-performing, and available at all times. Given the critical nature of the data handled daily by the public sector, the company relied on two trusted partners to strengthen its technology architecture.

1. OVHcloud: A Strategic Choice for Sovereignty and Security

Around ten years ago, JVS decided to migrate its infrastructure to OVHcloud. This partnership addresses a non-negotiable requirement from local authorities: data sovereignty. By leveraging OVHcloud, JVS guarantees its customers that their data is not only hosted in France, but also remains strictly under French jurisdiction.

Beyond this essential legal framework for building trust, the cloud infrastructure provides:

  • Enhanced security, thanks to built-in protection against cyberattacks.
  • Consistent and predictable performance, enabling cost control through guaranteed resources.

2. DEEP: The Intervention of "Ultra-Specialists" for Databases

While OVHcloud provides the infrastructure layer and JVS delivers the software value, one critical component remained: database management and performance.

Bertrand Verdelet openly acknowledges that, although the company initially believed it could manage its databases internally, it eventually reached the limits of its technical capabilities due to the complexity involved. To overcome this challenge, JVS turned to DEEP's experts. These specialists ensure Operational Maintenance and Support (OMS). Their role is vital: they guarantee the resilience, performance, and long-term evolution of the databases that support local government applications.

3. Measurable Results: An Availability Rate Above 99.9%

The combination of OVHcloud's robust infrastructure and DEEP's active monitoring now delivers tangible and measurable results.

Over a full year of operations (more than 8,700 hours), the JVS Group recorded only 5 incidents related to database service disruptions. In total, these incidents resulted in just 6 hours and 45 minutes of downtime.

This translates into an overall availability rate exceeding 99.9%. It is concrete proof of a highly stable infrastructure on the OVHcloud side and an exceptional ability to contain and resolve incidents rapidly when they occur on the DEEP side.

By combining technological sovereignty, high availability, and deep expertise, the JVS Group demonstrates that digital sovereignty and trust are not simply declared: they are built every day through solid and sustainable infrastructure choices.
