Maisons du Monde & DEEP: A Successful Strategic Partnership That Goes Beyond Managed Services
Operating in 10 European countries, with 328 stores and a strong e-commerce platform, Maisons du Monde has been a key player in inspiring, accessible and sustainable home design since 1996.
To deliver a seamless customer experience, the company relies on high-performance, secure and highly available information systems. To meet these requirements, Maisons du Monde has chosen DEEP as its trusted IT services partner.
A trusted partnership for more than 15 years
“For more than 15 years, DEEP has been supporting us in the management of our databases,” explains Pascal Nourry, Infrastructure & Production Director at Maisons du Monde.
Access to reliable data is a strategic requirement for a company of this scale. It is essential to ensure the proper functioning of the applications that support employees’ daily activities and enable a high level of customer service. Over the years, the company has evolved toward a fully omnichannel model, combining in-store and online sales. Today, more than 50% of Maisons du Monde’s revenue is generated through its digital platform, making the continuous availability of services a critical priority supported by a robust infrastructure.
By managing and administering the company’s databases, DEEP plays a strategic role in ensuring operational continuity. “Our long-standing partnership is built on trust and transparent communication,” adds Pascal Nourry. “DEEP consistently demonstrates a strong ability to adapt to our needs while providing deep technical expertise.”
Migrating to the public cloud to gain flexibility
To support its growth and evolving digital ecosystem, Maisons du Monde continuously modernizes its IT infrastructure. In this context, the company partnered with DEEP to migrate part of its infrastructure to the cloud.
This transformation took place between 2021 and 2023 as part of a broader initiative to merge the Core and E-commerce IT departments, each comprising around 70 employees. The objective was to streamline operations and optimize resources.
As part of this initiative, Maisons du Monde carried out a strategic migration from its legacy datacenters to the cloud, specifically Google Cloud Platform. The goal was to build a more flexible and scalable infrastructure capable of adapting rapidly to fluctuations in business activity.
This approach also ensures high availability of key services, including the e-commerce platform and the ERP GCE (Generix Collaborative Enterprise), while optimizing costs and leveraging a high-performance infrastructure.
Tailored support for a complex transformation
As part of this migration, DEEP supported Maisons du Monde by implementing a tailored approach adapted to the company’s specific needs. The brand was able to rely on DEEP’s unique expertise in outsourced database administration, ensuring the full management of critical resources, notably through tools such as Oracle Data Guard, in order to guarantee business resilience.
This technological support, based on personalized monitoring, made it possible to provide strategic guidance and anticipate changes in IT environments. In the context of this migration, this proved particularly valuable, especially through the recommendation to adopt new approaches. It was also especially valuable when assessing different options such as Google’s Bare Metal offering or the Oracle Database@Google Cloud offering in order to meet the company’s flexibility and scalability requirements.
This transformation project also helped clarify governance and structure the relationship between Maisons du Monde and its technology partners, with DEEP playing a leading role.
24/7 database support to guarantee service continuity
Today, DEEP continues to manage the entire database environment for Maisons du Monde, providing proactive monitoring and reactive support 24/7.
The service includes priority intervention with a response commitment of less than one hour outside business hours, ensuring rapid resolution of critical incidents.
This outsourced DBA service relies on a hybrid model, combining a subscription-based contract with additional services for specific projects.
Improved availability and performance
The successful cloud migration has enabled Maisons du Monde to approach the future with greater confidence. At the same time, its operational partnership with DEEP provides long-term stability and security for business operations.
By ensuring high availability of critical databases, proactive monitoring and rapid interventions—particularly during seasonal peaks in activity—DEEP helps maintain service continuity.
The reliability and expertise of DEEP’s database specialists significantly reduce potential disruptions while supporting operational performance.
Through a relationship built on trust, transparency and long-term collaboration, DEEP continuously advises Maisons du Monde on best practices to improve performance and optimize costs.
Continuous improvement and innovation
Both organizations work closely together with a shared commitment to continuous improvement, aiming to further strengthen support responsiveness and increase transparency regarding ongoing or planned interventions.
The collaboration between Maisons du Monde and DEEP illustrates a successful strategic partnership. Thanks to their technical expertise, responsiveness and adaptability, DEEP teams effectively support Maisons du Monde throughout its IT transformation journey.
This partnership is built on mutual trust and a shared commitment to innovation, ensuring that Maisons du Monde can continue to support its business operations and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Over the years, DEEP has supported our technological transformations by anticipating our needs and proposing innovative solutions that support our growth. concludes Pascal Nourry.
