Generali Luxembourg accelerates its operations with AI

Generali Luxembourg has deployed, together with DEEP, a sovereign AI solution hosted in a Tier IV datacenter in Luxembourg to optimize its AML/KYC processes. The solution significantly reduces processing times while ensuring regulatory compliance, data sovereignty and maximum security.

Context and challenges

In a highly regulated environment, Generali Luxembourg needed to deploy a sovereign AI solution hosted in Luxembourg that would guarantee compliance, confidentiality and full control over sensitive data. As public cloud solutions were not an option, DEEP implemented a dedicated solution hosted in a Tier IV datacenter and fully isolated from external networks.

Generali Luxembourg is a life insurance company specialized in insurance solutions and wealth structuring. It operates in a highly regulated environment, particularly regarding AML and KYC requirements, where compliance, data confidentiality and operational rigor are essential.

In this context, optimizing processes while maintaining full control over data represents a strategic priority.

Our support

DEEP supported Generali end-to-end: modernization of the IT infrastructure within a sovereign environment, provisioning of GPUs, selection and configuration of open-source models, followed by the deployment of a dedicated and isolated AI environment interconnected with the existing information system.

Teams were also supported in the adoption and optimization of the solution. From resource provisioning to the delivery of the first use case, the entire project was completed in just three months.

Support process

The AI project was part of a wider initiative to renew Generali Luxembourg's IT infrastructure, carried out in collaboration with DEEP.

A high-performance, resilient system environment was deployed in a Tier IV data centre in Luxembourg, providing the secure foundation needed for the future deployment of artificial intelligence models.

On this modernised infrastructure, DEEP set up an environment entirely dedicated to Generali, with no external connections.

GPUs were provisioned to enable the models to run. Open source models were selected, configured and deployed locally to ensure total control over data and processing.

The AI was then interconnected with Generali's information system. In three months (from ordering the GPUs to full integration), the first AML/KYC use case was deployed in the POC phase.

The solution analyzes customer documents, verifies their consistency and probative value, while retaining final human validation.

After deployment, the teams refined the prompts to achieve a satisfaction rate of 98%.

DEEP supported Generali in adopting the solution and optimizing its use. As the environment is scalable, other processes are now being considered in order to fully exploit the available power.
